Terms and Conditions
Online Telehealth Services for Cats and Dogs from Vet Pet Telehealth
By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you (“Pet Owner”) consent to participate in a telehealth consultation for your pet(s) with a licensed veterinarian (“Veterinarian”) through our online platform, Vet Pet Telehealth. Please review the terms below carefully before providing your consent.
1. Telehealth Service Description
The telehealth service allows for the provision of veterinary consultations through electronic communications, such as video calls or messaging. This service is designed to assist in providing general advice regarding your pet’s health. The consultation may include advice regarding your pet’s condition, care options, and recommendations for follow-up care.
2. Limitations of Telehealth
- Telehealth consultations are based on the information you provide and the Veterinarian’s visual assessment. The Veterinarian may not be able to provide a definitive diagnosis or care plan without a physical examination or further tests. The Veterinarian cannot prescribe medication virtually.
- Telehealth is not a substitute for in-person veterinary care in emergency situations. If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening condition, please seek immediate care from an emergency veterinary clinic.
3. Consent to Participate
By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You are the legal owner of the pet(s) being consulted on or have the authority to make decisions on behalf of the pet owner.
- You voluntarily consent to the use of telehealth services and understand that the Veterinarian will rely on the information and images you provide during the consultation.
- You understand that a telehealth consultation does not replace a physical examination and may have inherent limitations.
4. Confidentiality
The Veterinarian and the telehealth service provider are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information and your pet’s health records. However, as with any digital communication, there is a potential risk of unauthorized access or data breaches.
5. Fees and Payment
- The fee for telehealth consultations will be clearly communicated before the service is provided. Payment is required at the time of booking the consultation.
- You acknowledge that telehealth services may not be covered by pet insurance policies.
6. Liability
You agree to release and hold harmless the Veterinarian and the telehealth service provider from any liability arising from the use of telehealth services, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
7. Follow-Up Care
Based on the outcome of the telehealth consultation, the Veterinarian may recommend that you bring your pet to a physical location for further evaluation or treatment. It is your responsibility to follow through on these recommendations.
8. Consent to Record
You consent to the recording of the telehealth consultation for medical record-keeping purposes. Any recordings will remain confidential and will only be used for veterinary purposes.
9. Amendments
The telehealth service provider reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time. You will be notified of any changes before your next consultation.
10. Agreement
By proceeding with the telehealth consultation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions. You also confirm that you understand the nature of telehealth services, including their limitations.
